For the theme edges, I have chosen to look at the work of Imogen Cunningham, as I feel that a variety of different edges are shown within her work; the black and white filter on the majority of her photographs enhances these interesting edges, making her photographs very striking - this has inspired me to take photographs in a similar style. The photo shoot took place in a harbour and a garden during the day. I took photographs at different angles, so I could capture the edges in different ways, and so I could experiment with what looked best. I found the photographs of the wooden wall effective as the curvature and detail of the wood is eye-catching, and the edges are clear and bold. I intend to develop these photographs by adding in a black and white layer to enhance the edges.

Within these photographs I was attempting to capture a range of different edges in man made and natural objects. My photographs were taken on a Nikon D3000 on manual setting, during the afternoon. The work of Imogen Cunningham influenced me in completing this work due to her use of tone, and filters, which enhance the detail and edges. I was also inspired by her composition and subject matter, which encouraged me to go on to take my photographs.
I feel that the composition is effective due to the fact that I thought about the framing of the photograph before taking the photos, along with experimenting with different angles. I cropped some of my photographs to ensure the edges I was focusing on were bold and clear.
The contrast of tone and colour within my work strengthens the edges and creates a strong contrast between each edge. I enhanced the vibrancy and contrast on some of my photos so the plants and water were brighter, where as I added a black and white layer along with a filter to make the photograph warmer to another.
In order to refine and develop my work I would take a wider range of photographs and would edit them in a variety of ways.
